Parts Dept - Counter Sales

Summary

Scelzi Enterprises, Inc. is looking for a Parts Counter / Sales person. The job requires experience in front counter/phone sales. Purchasing experience is a plus but will train candidate. Experience with truck parts is also a plus. Candidate must have good communication skills, as they will work closely with the plant supervisors, sales staff, and the owners of the company.

Essential Functions

1.Parts counter/sales (interface with walk-in customer and customer over the phone).
2.Receive and fill telephone orders for parts.
3.Upsell products.
4.Read catalogs, or computer displays to determine replacement part stock number and prices.
5.Fill customer order from stock or write up a work order for production to build.
6.Take inventory of stock.
7.Advise customers on substitution or modification of parts when identical replacement are not available.
8.Examine returned parts for defects, and exchange defective parts or refund money.
9.Mark and store parts in stockrooms according to prearranged systems.
10.Discuss use and features of various parts, based on knowledge of machines or equipment.
11.Demonstrate equipment to customers and explain functioning of equipment.
12.Supports the purchasing department as needed.
13.Supports the sales department in writing quotes.

Work Environment

This job operates in an office / sales environment. Requires repetitive movement and standing for long periods of time.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift 50 lbs periodically.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days are Monday through Friday from 7:20 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Required Education and Experience

1.The job requires a minimum 3 years parts sales experience in truck parts.
2.Three (3) years experience using QuickBooks.
3.Able to type 45 WPM and use 10-key

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Must pass basic math test.

Must pass typing test.

Must pass pre-placement physical

Must pass pre-placement hair follicle drug test.
